Xinhua News Agency, Bangkok, March 29 (Ren Qian Wang Yaguang) The Ministry of Commerce of Thailand announced on the 29th that it will establish a Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) center to provide enterprises with relevant information and services.

According to reports, the center aims to better provide Thai people and businesses with information and assistance related to RCEP and other free trade agreements, trade and tariffs between Thailand and free trade agreement partners.

Thai Minister of Commerce Zhu Lin delivered a speech at the opening ceremony that day that the official signing of RCEP will form a huge market. Currently, member states are stepping up the approval process. He said that the formal entry into force of the agreement will bring huge development opportunities to Thailand.

The RCEP negotiation was initiated by the 10 ASEAN countries in 2012 and invited six dialogue partner countries from Australia, China, India, Japan, South Korea, and New Zealand to participate. The third RCEP leaders meeting was held in Bangkok, Thailand in November 2019 and issued a joint statement, announcing that 15 countries except India have concluded all textual negotiations and substantially all market access negotiations. In November 2020, 15 RCEP member states formally signed the agreement.

At present, China has completed the approval of RCEP, and Thailand has become the first member country of ASEAN to ratify the agreement.[Gravimetric blender]
